More gear. Sheesh. Big hit was a NOS '01 R6 Flametop Darkback. Dealer pics here. Not something you see every day. At first I wasn't super-wild about this guitar, but it is really growing on me. The Muddy's reign as Number Two was very short. Muddy gets bumped to Three.

As an added bonus, a set of P-90s supposedly out of a real '56 Les Paul came up on eBay. I paid too much for them, but they're mine now. Here's some pics of them.

In other news, a THD Univalve found its way here. This has been the disappointment so far. I just don't care much for it. I'm not giving up on it yet, though. But you know what? It's reinforcing the emerging idea that as to amps, I'm just a Fender guy and that's that.

In brighter news, a Teese Wheels Of Fire wah is on order. In RED! Too cool. I'm really pumped. :)

It's been a GASsy couple of weeks. First a NOS 2001 Muddy Waters Telecaster right after Christmas. It's here, it's dear, it's absolutely killer. My new Number Two.

Yesterday I nabbed the last Variax V500 closeout at the Tampa Guitar Center. I wouldn't have paid what they originally were asking, but for $499 it's a helluva deal in sonic gadgetry. It plays ok, generic Korean kinda thing. Some surprsingly good sounds. But I think I'll put the guts in a Warmoth guitar, combined with real pickups. Yummy! :)

Then today, the right (I hope) HM Strat came along on eBay. In transit, we'll see.

This is a really nice set-neck Epi. Medium-hot pickups. Plays really well and rocks out! Some sloppiness around some of the inlays, but other than that the fit and finish is excellent.
