Iran has nukes? Maybe it's time to sell Israel a Trident

This is not good news.

And no, I'm not kidding about the Trident. If they can't afford it, there's always Lend-Lease.

New blogroll entry: tonecluster

On the basis of this oh-so-exquisitely-right-on rant, I'm pleased to add tonecluster to the blogroll.

Hat tip to baldilocks, who has comments on said rant.

Stars

Perhaps they are not the stars,
But rather openings in Heaven
Where the love of our lost ones
Pours through and shines down upon us
To let us know they are happy

Sniff!

100 protestors, 100,000 mourners

I note the contrast between the over 100,000 who will view President Reagan lying in state, and the 100 who turned out in Savannah to protest at the G-8 summit.

Old Detroit (ers)

I must be old. I got about 90% of these.

You 're An Old Detroiter If........

A lot of good memories here. It's really sad what has happened to Detroit. And all of us should pay attention, as the same trends run throughout the country, just stronger and faster some places than others.

Gorbachov is coming to President Reagan's funeral

We've sure seen a lot of amazing things in the last few years. History, big history, in the making.

Surely one of the most amazing has to be that Gorbachov is coming to Reagan's funeral.

Think of that. Reagan is widely credited (including by me) with being the driving force that led to the final defeat of the Soviet Union in the Cold War. That, in turn, led to the break-up and dissolution of the once-mighty empire of the Soviet Union. Mikhail Gorbachov was the leader that Reagan defeated. The last leader of the Soviet Union. And he's coming to Reagan's funeral to pay final respects.

Think of that.
